External Advisory Board
The newly established External Advisory Board brings individuals from outside institutions with scientific expertise in various areas of importance to the Stein Institute together to review the progress of the Institute’s research and guide its future research goals. The first meeting of the External Advisory Board was held in San Diego in April 2007. The six members of the External Advisory Board include:

Executive Director and Treasurer of Hartford Foundation
- Nicholas Schork, PhD
Director of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at Scripps Translational Science Institute; Director of Research at Scripps Genomic Medicine; and Professor of Psychiatry at The Scripps Research Institute
- Robert Wallace, MD, MS
Professor and Irene Ensminger Stecher Professorship in Cancer Research Department of Epidemiology Director, Center on Aging at University of Iowa
